Our Pastor

The Rev. Glenn E. Ludwig began his work at the Gettysburg Seminary in May 2013, initially serving as Vice President of Seminary Advancement, President of the Gettysburg Seminary Endowment Foundation, and Project Director for a Lilly Grant. From 2005-2013, he served on the Board of Directors of the Seminary, serving as Board Chair from 2007-2013.

Pastor Ludwig is in his 45th year of service as an ordained pastor, serving in numerous congregations, including First Lutheran in Ellicott City, MD, where he served for 23 years, and more recently at Trinity Lutheran in Camp Hill, PA, where he was Interim Senior Pastor for three and a half years. His career also included serving as Chaplain to the University at Susquehanna University, his alma mater, from 1980-85.

He attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and is a graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1973, receiving the “Excellence in Ministry” Award, their highest honor, in 2000. Pastor Ludwig is also the author of seven books, the most recent of which addresses the issue of long-term pastorates and was published by the Alban Institute. In addition, he was honored with pastor emeritus status from First Lutheran in Ellicott City and given a Presidential Leadership Award from Gettysburg Seminary.

He and his wife, Stella, a retired elementary school teacher and former outdoor ministry director, live in Mechanicsburg and attend Trinity Lutheran in Camp Hill. Pastor Ludwig’s two children and four grandsons live in PA as well.
