FAMILY PROMISE

Family PromiseFamily Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region is an interfaith hospitality network for families in transition. Area congregations provide evening and overnight hospitality (the "night time rim") for guests of the program who are striving to regain employment and seek affordable housing. St. Paul's participates in the program by hosting families four to five weeks a year.

The opportunities to make Christ known through this program are plentiful. Volunteers are called upon to provide a hot evening meal, to be with the families during the evening hours, and to stay overnight to transition to the morning hours. Contact our Family Promise Volunteer Coordinator, Thelma Lehman by calling or sending an email to the church office.

During the day, the families are transported to the Day Center in Lemoyne, next to Trinity Lutheran Church. There, the Day Center Director, Caseworker and volunteers assist the families with job searches and housing. Learn more about Family Promise through the website.

If you would like to help out in any way (overnight host, meal preparer, monetary donation for food, donate food or have at least 2 hours out of your day to drive the van) and you are not on the list of volunteers please contact Thelma Lehman at thelmalehman@ymail.com or (717) 292-4658.
